Shock jocks and controversy are a part of our culture, but the shock from these jocks is an entire hour of Fringe comedy, free from smut and language, yet with constant thrills and laughs. Long Time Listener, First Time Caller is the result of LightFM’s Luke Holt and K-Rocks Leroy Brown combining live radio and live comedy in a way that is certain to give a jaw dropping and side splitting insight to the ultimate ‘theatre of the mind’.
Keeping it clean is a career for Holt and Brown, both on stage and on-air. However, while ‘clean’ is a bit easier for Holt on LightFM’s Luke and Lucy breakfast show, it’s a bit more of a challenge for K-Rock’s B-Team breakfast show host Brown, who regularly reminds his co-host Chicken that there are “kids in the car” in an attempt to curb his enthusiasm.
Long Time Listener, First Time Caller will not include foul language, innuendo, or generally offensive material it will include a rare and hilarious insight into a live radio studio. Before your eyes the on-air light will come on and you will experience a comedy show like never before, including a radio character voice that has come to life in the flesh, dealing with random phone calls to the studio, and the radio games we love to play along with in the car.
While Brown is currently heard on Geelong’s K-Rock each weekday morning he has travelled the country working in radio in Berri, Darwin, and networked on Triple M’s Cold30 to Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, and Adelaide.
Holt has been on the airwaves in Melbourne, Brisbane, the Sub-continent, Asia, and Africa. He has even had an autograph signing session in India and now at least 20 Indians have something he signed. Holt’s past five years on Melbourne’s breakfast radio waves included a stint on the breakfast show with his wife Susie.
After a short sell out show in the Melbourne International Comedy Festival Holt is excited to team up with Brown for their first time together and first time in the Melbourne Fringe. You will leave still laughing, reminiscing, quoting, and talking about how good it is to laugh so hard without anything offensive.
