Luke Laughs - General Story

Luke Holt spent the majority of his life growing up in Toowoomba, Queensland.  Raised by Christian parents with his two sisters and one brother, life was full of more heartache than most young men bear.

In the midst of the tragedies in his family life, Luke was heading down a path of drugs, alcohol and crime.  Fortunately, his parents prayed daily for him and his life changed as he developed a relationship with God at 16 years of age.

Since then, he has been to University and Bible College, eventually becoming a youth pastor in his home church in Toowoomba.  It was here that he stumbled upon a passion for radio after volunteering to help the local Christian station.

Since his first radio gig at Toowoomba’s “The Light”, Luke has worked at international broadcaster “CVC” and is currently breakfast host and Program Director at 89.9 LightFM.

Through his life experiences, education and roles in church and media, Luke has developed an engaging style of public speaking.  He shares his personal stories vulnerably in the knowledge that his experience can lead to real breakthrough in the lives of others.

Luke is known by his LightFM listeners for his loud and regular belly laugh and his willingness and ability to share that joy. Through his high energy humor and personal stories, Luke makes an impact wherever he speaks.
